Funny and/or sad that some of these are over 100 years old, but are now more relevant than ever.
I have cleaned, straightened and cropped some of the pics.

@bhasic should probably put a trigger warning for slurs on this one but i agree with the messaging
@vendetta02 Well the cartoon makes it clear it's not an ok word.
@bhasic I agree, but some people would like a trigger warning first. it's not about the context it's about the content, some people find that word triggering regardless of the context.

@bhasic what’s the β€œBlack” tentacle about?

Edit: ahhh, β€œblacklist”

@bhasic
The reason why people think like capitalists is that the concept of traditional capitalism is ubiquitous; we eat, breathe, and think in capitalist terms and have for 400 years. A new way of thinking is to have the means of production owned communally or as a commons, not collectively for the community, but for the workers. It's not socialism, but a different approach to capitalism.

#capitalism #CommonsCapitalism

@Cirdan Capitalism is working as intended, it cant be fixed. It's just a continuation of feodalism. Smarter and wiser people have thought this trough many times in the last 100 years.

@bhasic
Sorry, it can be fixed. Look at my posts on Commons Capitalism. Apparently, they are not smarter, nor wiser. If you only think in terms of traditional capitalism, yeah, you won't see how to fix it. You have to think in terms where the means of production are neither owned by individuals, nor owned publicly.

#capitalism #CommonsCapitalism

@Cirdan @bhasic So when do people get to say no to capitalism and try something else?

@pinkdrunkenelephants @bhasic

When you come up with a better economic system that can be implemented. #CommonsCapitalism could be implemented today but for the fact only a few people on Mastodon have heard of it. Trying to get the word spread about Commons Capitalism is difficult because people can't conceive of a different approach to capitalism. I hate to suggest it, but Commons Capitalism is a new economic paradigm.

@bhasic @Cirdan specifically: early capitalism was a bit of a reset from late feudalism back to being closer to how early feudalism worked. Currently it's closer to how late feudalism worked.
@jeremy_list @bhasic
It was an interesting evolution of economics in England from 1066 to the 1800s. But what fascinates me is the role of the Commons which was systematically taken from the commoners starting in 1235 with the Staute of Merton. Capitalism took over from the Lords in Feudalism. But, I wonder what would have happened if the Commons were not enclosed and capitalism had taken the form of Communal Capitalism instead of Traditional Capitalism.

Wow! What an amazing post! Well done for taking the time to do it.

It’s a great illustration of how nothing has changed.

Are these all ~100 / ~130years old?

@bhasic People's smarts are spiraling in all directions, some worse than others.
