Format style:
Who you are and what help you need. Context depends on what you feel safe sharing.
Link to paypal, ko-fi, venmo, cashapp, gofundme or similar sites where you can receive funds. If a shop, include a direct link to your shop.
Add #MutualAidRequest hashtag and any related to your ask or community. Avoid overtagging - if hashtags are more than a quarter of your message, you likely wonāt get a lot of boosts.
Be patient, we'll boost as we can!

Okay, I'll go first to help inspire others!
I'm Aidan, nickname Bird. I was denied federal disability despite having LongCovid and other chronic illnesses. I lost my job recently. Need help with housing, food, and utilities. My cat and I live alone with friends helping sometimes.
Housing bill is 790 a month. Utilities around 120.

I'm Malka Beth, I'm a disabled as is my husband & we're waiting for a disability determination from the SSA for disability money's for him.
I'm looking for help in the costs of supplies to help repair my home, main needs now being
1. to buy PEX pipe and valves to replace the rusted out galvanized ones we now have, which will cost about $300-400
2. to buy more wooden boards, posts and hardware to support/fix the main floor enclosed back porch, that's now sagging which will cost about $400-600

Thank you! š I was trying to make my needs more clear but brevity is not my friend. Having cognitive disabilities makes it so difficult to write now. Itās hard to itemise costs when I have so much going on at once & itās hard to know what will cost, how much, and when. Itās an ongoing operation.

I agree; I think it might be as less folks have been as active with holidays. I'm gonna do the thread again near end of January. Part of the issue is that the tips and tricks I've been given work well on twitter, but not so much on Mastodon. So I feel like I'm muddling through new territory with the mutual aid asks here.
But persistence and experimentation should hopefully help us find a way that works?
I got too ill in January and couldn't set up anything to be honest. It's been a rollar coaster ride of pain and flareups of late. So I talked with the other mods and the admin, and we think we're gonna set this up as a pinned threads to retoot, and link each to the disabled.social blog and promote it that way. @PanickedFoodie is helping with the project too.
Apologies for this. I didn't expect to get so ill again.

Itās been a tough while for me too and Iām reaching out to set things up in case things donāt turn out so well. It depends on a lot of factors and my body can drop at any time, especially with the heat weāre having and lack of medical support. I hope youāre feeling better.
Iāll have to figure out what the blog is when Iāve more sleep.

I'm Rebecca in #Ithaca NY, US, with severe #MECFS. Life is stressful.
I need to find a new part time caregiver. I pay through CDPAP, so it's only $15.30/hour, but my home is an awesome place to be.
I also need help finding a new roommate to rent my 2nd bedroom. COVID precautions required. Cat and dog onsite.
