I figured it was finally time for a new #introduction post, so here goes.

Hi, I’m Deanna (they/them) . I’m nonbinary and genderfluid. I’ve moved around Europe a lot, before finding my home in #Finland. I have #misophonia and I’ve been dealing with #LongCovid since mid 2020.

I really enjoy #travelling, although with the #ClimateCrisis I try to minimise my carbon emissions when travelling. I love #music and #musicals, and I’m always happy to get recommendations. I also really like #baking and #cooking (mostly #vegan). Other interests include #DoctorWho and #origami.

I work as a physicist studying some of the cool stuff that happened in the early universe. I’m very passionate about science #outreach and I’ve been doing #cosmology livestreams - called #CupOfCosmology - since late 2015 (link in bio). I'm also open about my struggles with #MentalHealth in academia, and my experience as #LGBTQInSTEM and as a (perceived) #WomanInSTEM.

I love meeting new people, so feel free to follow and interact!

@dchooper91 hi! Sounds like a lot of interesting topics, following 😊Are there things you particularly like or dislike about Finland compared to other places you've lived?
@DrVeronikaCH I love the nature here, and how green, clean, and quiet the cities are. I also think Finns are really cool. And being in a very nice research group with some amazing people definitely helps my positive impression!
As all places, I think there are some things that can be improved, and of course the recent slide into a right wing government is rather worrying.
