Time for a 🧵 for the #summer #timetable 2023 with changes announced recently or earlier&called to mind again.
Let's start with a chapter of #Intercity history: The IC 118-119 #Bodensee was introduced in 2003, at this time the only through service between #Innsbruck 🇦🇹 and #Dortmund 🇩🇪 running via #Lindau, #Friedrichshafen and #Ulm.
From 11 June the loco-hauled service will be replaced by newer ICE4 sets. Timings of ICE 118-119 stay the same (no stops in Aulendorf and Göppingen anymore).
On Saturdays from 8 July to 26 August 2023 a TGV service will run for the first time directly between #Frankfurt 🇩🇪 and #Bordeaux 🇫🇷 in #NouvelleAquitaine.
Journey time is about 7,5-8 hours travelling a distance of more than 1000 kilometers. The last direct service Bordeaux <> Central Germany was a "DB AutoZug" (for car-carrying train passengers only) withdrawn 20 years ago.
The new TGV 9594 will leave Frankfurt at 6:56am and TGV 9599 departs from Bordeaux at 3:58pm.
From 10 June 2023 the late evening/early morning service IC 460-461 between Wien Hbf and Salzburg Hbf, can be used as a overnight service between #Vienna 🇦🇹 and #Stuttgart 🇩🇪 . Additionally it runs daily since start of June (instead of 6x/per week before).
A six-car DB KISS train set is used (seats-only). However, those who prefer a 🛏️ can also take the direct #EuroNight "Kálmán Imre" already extended to/from Stuttgart in December 2022.
Let's move on to 🇨🇿:
After more than 2 years (!) the long-distance trains between #Brno and Kolín/Praha will run again on the usual route via Česká Třebová.
Because of construction works including the reconstruction of viaducts and tunnels between #Brno and #Blansko, the two-hourly Railjet service #Prague 🇨🇿 - #Brno - #Vienna 🇦🇹 - #Graz was diverted via Havlíčkův Brod during that time.
From 1 July 2023 the RJs will stop again at #ČeskáTřebová and #Pardubice instead of #BrnoKrálovoPole.
Another comeback: From 1 July 2023, RJ 256-257 will run again as a through service #Graz 🇦🇹 - #Wien - #Praha 🇨🇿 - #Dresden 🇩🇪 - #Berlin.
The train pair was running only between Graz and #Prague during the past six months due to construction works in the Elbtal region.
Thanks to the reinstatement there will be again two direct day train connections between #Vienna and Berlin: ICE 92-93 via Nürnberg and RJ 256-257 via Prague.
The city of #Gandía 🇪🇸 located next to the Mediterranean Sea with a ferry port for those who are going to Ibiza, is normally only served by #Cercanías #trains.
However, only in summer one #Intercity train pair connects #Gandía and #Cullera directly to the 🇪🇸 capital #Madrid. This year starting from 9 June the seasonal #IC service will run daily until early September instead of 6x/week before.

From 1 July to 27 August 2023 a direct #TGV Lyria service will be operated between #Genève 🇨🇭 and #Marseille 🇨🇵 via #Lyon Part-Dieu.
Additionally, from 1 to 23 July the TGV will be extended from/to #Lausanne.
Departure of TGV 9756 from Lausanne is at 07:45 and TGV 9752 from Marseille at 13:46.
Good news for the #Berlin 🇩🇪 -#Warszawa 🇵🇱 -Express: A sixth #EuroCity service per direction will be provided from 11 June, both of them departing before noon and filling a gap of four hours.
This means now 4 daily services instead of 3 (and two of them 6x/week as before).
At the same time construction works will take place in Berlin until 1 July. The #EC trains stop at Gesundbrunnen and Lichtenberg instead of Hbf and Ostbf.
The overnight service NJ 233-234/294-295 Wien 🇦🇹 / München 🇩🇪 - La Spezia 🇮🇹 will get two additional stops in #Liguria from tomorrow: S.Margherita Ligure-Portofino and #Monterosso.
With a stop at Monterosso, just in time before summer one of the popular #CinqueTerre can be reached directly by #nighttrain now.
Oh that's nice: The #InterCityNotte 763-764 🇮🇹 #Roma - #Bolzano/ #Bozen already extended to #Innichen/ #SanCandido on weekends from February to April (labelled as "Treno alla neve"), is also operated during the summer season.
So the #Pustertal region can be visited by #nighttrain on weekends from today until September.
The ICN departs from Rome on Fridays and Saturdays and returns from Innichen on Saturdays and Sundays.

From 3 June to 26 October the new direct #IC 2371-2370 "Schwarzwald" is operated between #Stuttgart 🇩🇪 and #Konstanz next to the Lake Constance 🌊 using the #Schwarzwaldbahn 🌲 via Triberg.
#Deutschlandticket is valid between Offenburg and Konstanz according to DB Reiseauskunft.
This #summer again the direct Talgo service between #Sarajevo 🇧🇦 and #Ploče 🇭🇷 on the Adriatic Coast is operated on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 June to 27 August 2023.
New this year is an additional connection train in Sarajevo to the city of #Visoko allowing a return journey from Ploče (18:26) via Sarajevo (arr. 21:51/dep. 22:02) to Visoko (arr. 22:44).
