So my bubble here starts thinking about governance, decision making and accountability in Mastodon.
I'm sure we're not the only ones. What else is out there? Who's talking / thinking / writing about this?

"My bubble starts .." - well: Some of them started 25 Years ago 😅
Firefox, OO/LO, Linux bzw. Mastodon sind nur die freien & IMO akzeptablen Alternativen der jeweiligen Zeit ..

talking✅
(with others from @BitsUndBaeumeDresden)
thinking✅
(topic is important and might even serve as a blueprint for other communities)
writing⏳
(... only started a pad: https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/fediverse-constitution-brainstorming)
Also: Kind of funny that you are bringing the governance topic up because some days ago @malteengeler nominated you as the "queen of mastodon" and I already asked you to convene #constitution|al council, see https://social.tchncs.de/web/@cark/109268622701327889 😉
I just found a new issue that should be part of the discussion on #fediverse #governance:
https://infosec.exchange/@jerry/109311187050279476
Their seem to be two contradicting positions:
"Would be immensely useful to find valuable information" vs. "Would be the perfect target-finder for trolls"
I think there are (technical) solutions for this, e.g. a optin-hashtag for indexing. But they need to be coordinated. → #constitution

@leakix I am doing this publicly so I can take whatever heat I deserve for this. Perhaps I didn’t have the foresight to add a narrow rule disallowing accounts for projects that are indexing the fediverse/providing fediverse search abilities. I own that. I am, unfortunately, going to have to ask you to find a different instance to host on. I expect you’ll find that this a wildly unpopular project across the fediverse. It pains me, because at some level, I think it’s a useful and missing function, however it’s antithetical the values of the fediverse. Thanks for your understanding, Jerry

Del & retoot:
Social.coop comes to my mind, i now see it was mentioned already.
Also: sunbeam.city .
And geno.social .
@anneroth Moderation is getting a lot of activity at present, but I am not sure that is the same as discussing governance, decision making, and accountability.
In that people seem most concerned about the application, or not, of CWs and getting others to conform to their preferred moral norms. Few seem to be, or even be willing to, deliberate the basis of their moderation preference.
@dajb wrote a thought provoking piece on this:

Let's say you're going to set up a new WhatsApp, Signal, or Telegram chat for a group of people. It could be for family members, it could be for friends, or colleagues. It could be, which is a very familiar scenario for Team Belshaw, the way in which you find out when and where your
