@fediverse @rimu @Snoopy @Jerry #piefed is fairly new as a social media platform. There was no piefed instance before COVID if I'm not mistaken.

There ought to be more #instances of #piefed in order to reach newer users. And you might be aware that #piefed would find huge number of users in geographical areas like #china and #southAsia . What are your thoughts on this ??

Moreover, the #fediverse has its own neat rules when it comes to federating servers. Please share your thoughts on this each of you.

If you have been on Mastodon for more than a few months and plan on sticking around I suggest you move off of mastodon.social or mastodon.world if you haven’t already. Your experience will most likely be more stable and you’ll be able to explore and search federated feed.

If you have an instance and are welcoming people I’d ask you comment on and boost this toot!

Plus it’s what all the cool kids are doing ..

Le très gros avantage de kolektiva, en plus d'être réellement anar, sans censure à faux prétexte (comme, par exemple antisémitisme contre de l'anti-sionisme), sur les autres instances est qu'elle permet des toots de 10 000 caractères (oui, dix mille) alors que la limite sur la plupart des autres instances est bien moindre. Il y a moins d'une main en tout d'instances comme ça, à ma connaissance. La plupart des autres sont en dessous de 1000 caractères max ou bien proches.

10 000, ça ne sert pas souvent mais ça rend possible de publier des choses élaborées (avec images) comme des articles complets, des traductions complètes, des analyses approfondies sans contraindre les mastodonautes à aller sur un autre site pour avoir tout le contenu -> la communication en est plus rapide, plus facile donc facilement plus efficace.

C'est un avantage que je ne cesse d'apprécier tous les jours tant sur mes publications que sur celles des autres.

(Je trouve d'ailleurs dommage que dans les présentations standard des instances la taille maximale disponible pour un toot ne soit pas indiquée.)

I'm still thinking about what @Oregon_Pacifist said about a small community being the best choice for Retro-Gaiden. I agree completely. After joining a few bigger #Mastodon #instances over the last 3 days, it's become clear that bigger doesn't always mean better. Take mastodon.social, for example—it has disabled the local live feed to reduce server load and manage the high volume of posts. Long live Retro-Gaiden!

I've been signing up on a few #Mastodon #instances lately to explore posting longer, blog-like content (3000+ characters) unrelated to #RetroGaming. This doesn't mean I'm neglecting Retro-Gaiden—I love it here, and retro gaming is my hidden passion. Just a heads-up: sorry if I seem less active. I won't leave. LOL.
