Before I left the Failed States, I learned to shoot and at one point put down money on a thing whose only purpose is negating aliveness of humans. This was motivated by the following calculation: that if they came for me, I wanted to be prepared to take one or two of them with me.
But the moral weight and intrinsic danger to people I love was too much. I was perhaps a coward. I returned the thing and leveraged what privilege I had to exit the Failed States, at least for a while.
If the Minnesota national guard is actually mobilized and actually r e m o v e s one (1) ๐ง then I may need to hang up this account indefinitely.
Minnesota is doing it better than us and I think it's fair and necessary to acknowledge that
