Some of these dongles actually work on #zeST. But:
- with an outdated stable release of #Buildroot from 2024.
- with an outdated #Linux kernel from 2023.
So older devices may be working, newer devices absolutely not.
Is it me, or management of Wi-Fi USB devices on #embedded #Linux platforms is particularly flaky?
I mean, some of my devices may work with certain kernel versions, some buildroot versions, and not others. In some cases, a device may be working once, then never again after a reboot.
This is delaying A LOT the upcoming release of #zeST. I am at a point in which I am tempted to remove everything related to Wi-Fi from the project.
Any experts on the subject here?
It will, of course, depend on the size of your limes, though as a rule of thumb, one regularly sized lime will give you approximately 2 teaspoons of lime zest.

#zeST release: important bug fix, MIDI logging
This small release fixes an important bug in the GEMDOS drive and enables MIDI as a logging device. GEMDOS drive fix This fix solves a memory management issue with the initial release. It replaces a system call with another one, that was made available in TOS starting from version 1.04. So this fixed version now only works on TOS versions 1.04 and up. Everything is explained in the updated documentation.

On the menu: a brand new GEMDOS drive, real-time clock implementation, improvements around network connectivity and joystick/gamepad management and some driver updates. A new GEMDOS drive The GEMDOS drive is a new way of implementing a hard disk drive on zeST. It maps the contents of a directory on the local Linux system to a logical disk drive on the Atari.
I am currently debugging #zeST's upcoming GEMDOS drive. This is taking longer than expected! A release should come once all bugs are solved.
