So many plumeria flowers! Yay! Amaze amaze amaze #bloomscrolling #garden #gardening #yard #yardwork

We're clearing overgrowth around the house and started looking at the limestone walls. We have a bunch of fish fossils and other critters in the walls. This is one of the easier ones to see.

I have been itching to do a #poolpond update because today was a good day! Yesterday we went to Rona for some supplies including an irrigation box to hide the valves and a few cans of foam sealant to start foaming in the rocks and waterfall at the head of the poolpond.

Today was irrigation box day and it was not light work! I also managed to squish a finger between two rocks… twice.

Had to dig a hole to hold the box and get the top reasonably close to ground level. That took a bit plus three small trenches to allow the 2” hose to reach down into smoothly. (I avoided elbows and stuff because they slow/impede the flow of the water)

Also had to use some leftover cloth and pond liner to make sure the hole was within the system and would not lose water out of the system if any connections leaked.

One hose goes straight from the main pond in the pump bay pond to the bog filter.

The second hose goes into the manifold (set of red/white valves) and the flow can be split between going to the poolpond to act as water recirculation and flow from outlets in the bottom and outlets near the top of the water, or into the bog filter. (Note to self at least ONE of these valves MUST be open at all times)

Next weekend I will work on foaming in the rocks on Saturday and hopefully fill the system Sunday!

Metal brackets and three 2x4s - 12 feet and cut in half and voila a nice little wood rack. Could have gone with 4' on the verticals.
Should have done this at least a couple of years ago. (just used concrete blocks with and 4 ft 2x4s stuck in the holes and the logs in between the wood)

Yesterday I waged war with the jungle behind my house. I fought back blackberries and knotweed, and ivy, but it's only a temporary victory. It'll all come back and I'll go fight again. #pnw #yardwork
Texas has the amazing ability to go from “it’s a bit cloudy, I’ll prune the roses” to “holy shit it is the apocalypse” in 30 seconds flat #yard #garden #gardening #yardwork #texas
Well my job is clearly done, surely someone else gets to tidy it all up, yeah? #gardening #yardwork #yard #texas
Plumeria watch! This beauty is in full bloom. Extremely fragrant, like a candy shop. Bright blooms that last up to five days at full flower before they fall. Then they make their way to my kitchen in a bowl of water. #bloomscrolling #flowers #yard #garden #gardening #yardwork
Today’s project is thinning these canna lillies out and moving some to other spots. They have decided it’s growing time and have eaten my path. #yardwork #yard #gardening #garden #texas

It’s #stouturday and #yardWork day and I figured why my eyes have been terrible this spring!

The glowiness alongside my #revBrewChicago Deth’s Tar isn’t radioactive - it’s POLLeN!

My aching eyes, relieved by this dark beauty rich with barrel notes & deep flavors
