Morning shift of #OperationMoveDirtMountain is complete. Good progress was made. The new level in the front driveway was marked and is being extended.

This is essentially just horrible and sticky clay but it will have to do as a base to bring the front driveway up to a better height sloping less toward the house and in general.

The two gravel tracks for the car will be kept and deepened/solidified while a number of flat stones will provide walking paths from each side of the car to the sidewalk or backyard.

More work in the yard this morning and afternoon. Mainly had to move the chicken coop!

A few years back, with a different coop the very first time we got chickens, we did a farmer pose with a pitchfork and a shovel and stuff. No tools this time. 😂

Also emptied the water that accumulated *under* the pool liner.

Next task will be to spread the big dirt pile over the whole back section from the foot of the stairs to the fence. Many shovel fulls are in my future!

Waiting for my first doordash order after spending some time in the yard today moving the project along...

Repurposed one of the garden boxes from the back where the new patio/bbq/paellaria will be beside the #poolPond to the front around the northern spy apple.

Also pulled the dead stuff from the front flower box and added new dirt.

Will need to get some fabric or chicken wire to keep the neighbour cats out of the apple tree box.

Today we took the ridiculously large blocks of cement that were under each corner of the shed, to the dump.

I had originally thought I could break them up into pieces small enough to dump for free... but it became clear over the winter that there was not a tool strong enough or cheaper than just biting the $150 bullet

About 950kg total... moved with levers and wedges.

Only pinched one finger.
