Here in #Oregon we’re lamenting the twilight of #CraftBeer with the state-wide closure, multiple locations, of one of the best known breweries in the #PNW - Rogue Ale. They had really neat facilities, with great food, ambiance, and a brewery onsite. It appears they mismanaged their finances, but the transition away from traditional brews, beer and wine, to other beverages by the younger generation also may have played a part.

I found out a few months ago that one of our local beer breweries, Thomas Creek, had shut down earlier this year. They were doing craft beer before it was cool, having opened back in 1998. Today at my local liquor store I found a leftover six pack sitting on their shelf and I couldn’t resist.

One last toast - RIP Thomas Creek Brewery.

P.S. The beer is more foamy than usual but it’s still the River Falls Red Ale that I have some fond memories of!

Pouring one out for #RogueAles tonight, though I didn't have a Rogue beer on hand, so I opened a bottle of Monk's Brew from Mikkeller. Thoughts are with all of the employees impacted by the news today of Rogue's sudden closure across its Oregon locations.

I was a bit worried that the change in seasons and daylight would keep me cooped up indoors day after day. However, I'm finding an assortment of lovely activities to keep myself occupied. I'm trying hard to close my exercise ring most days, which has led to bike rides, pool running, and walking in a variety of areas.
On the weekend, I saw items for sale to grow veggie sprouts at home, and the resulting experiment seems to be a great success.
A #CraftBeer meetup took place 4 blocks away last night, and allowed me to reconnect with some lovely people I haven't seen for a long time.
There's a new (1 year old!) book shop in the area that's delightful, along with multiple lovely cafés owned by a Colombian family that sells their homegrown beans.
I need to get dressed for the first of 2 days of #sewing with groups of good people.

This Friday, November 14, Bend’s #CruxFermentationProject releases this year’s edition of Tough Love #BarrelAged #ImperialStout with a release party from 5 to 9pm.
