Dylan Van Assche@admin Seems that on XDA they already figured out how to enter fastboot mode. You need that for sure. I checked the #postmarketOS wiki but the device is not ported yet. Also the SoC does not give any hits. The easiest for now is usiing the downstream kernel source. However, you may miss things like hardware acceleration to run #GNOME or #KDE, but you can run things like #XCFE or other UIs. What do you want to build with it?
UnaOculusApertaWhilst not strictly photography - I thought I'd share that I've just repurposed an old - gifted to me - AMD Aspire 15.6 " laptop PC. Athlon II X2 CPU, Radeon HD 4250 graphics, 8Gb RAM and 120Gb SSD.
Downloaded the latest #ArchLinux ISO, loaded image onto a usb-stick, installed manually (no script/s) with #XCFE desktop and I'm using now to type this note.
I very pleased with the performance of both machine and OS.
I'm hoping the experience will transfer into photographic post processing. 👍 😎

Rune Ranch - ルーン・ランチ@forsamori Yeah! Been using #XCFE for the longest time and really enjoyed it. Guess it’s because of it being a more traditional desktop experience. But #GNOME definitely got something going for it, just have to think a little different when using it. #CinnamonDesktop is also great, as a go to from #Windows or #MacOS.

HMFMy first ever #Linux installation impressions (fresh #LinuxMint #Xcfe install on a brand new laptop):
Day 1
- Going through the process of creating a USB with the system. I had to google how to verify integrity and authenticity of the iso on Windows - looks like the Linux Mint website offers no guidance in this regard. This should definitely be fixed, considering Mint is highly recommended for Windows users looking to try an alternative. A video guide would've been especially helpful.
