Hello X-Fans, We hope you had a fantastic Holiday season! We want to share some important news about an upcoming change: THE ONLINE LEADERBOARD OF X4: TIMELINES WILL BE RESET WHEN THE FLIGHT MODEL UPDATE IS RELEASED. This reset is necessary due to the fundamental changes being made to the flight model, which will make comparisons with the older scores unfair. While we cannot provide an exact date for this change, we can confirm that the Flight Model Update is expected to be released in Q1 2025.

Just me, trying to barge my way through the X4 Timelines mini campaign and get it over with.
Look, like, I know Egosoft was trying something new with this one. But what the missions in this campaign amount to are basically challenge modes, and the only reason I'm even bothering is to unlock the content that I actually want from the DLC for use in the sandbox.
The Terminus missions are interesting, I suppose! A brief glimpse at what appear to be significant moments in X4 lore, and they're not done in the form of arbitrary challenges like the Nodi are.
There's also a story. Kind of feels like Assassin's Creed. Or, at least, what Assassin's Creed used to be. You know, before Ubisoft decided to throw the narrative in the garbage and just make the same shit over and over again. But basically, the idea is your character relives significant moments in X4 history for the purpose of doing something jargony to unlock the content in sandbox. The facility is mysterious and you meet some wooden characters, and there are little story bits to witness whenever you dip out of the Animus--Err, Nexus. The Nexus.
Honestly like, I recommend this DLC to anyone who just absolutely has to have all X4 content, but it does feel mundane. Like the game is making me jump and dance for the content I actually wanted. It's a checklist of chores and I feel like he labor that went into it could have been better spent on something more substantial.
The fact that it came out alongside the much anticipated 7.0 update though kind of sweetens the deal slightly. #X4 #x4timelines
