#Wrightbus has unveiled its Generation 2 Electroliner, described as its most advanced and efficient battery-electric bus yet. Developed through a multi-million-pound in-house battery programme, the new model offers up to 375 miles (604 km) on a single charge, full charging in 75 minutes and an 11% reduction in total cost of ownership. Enhanced features include a new HVAC system with reversible heat pump, improved thermal stability meeting GB38032-2020 safety standards, and extended battery warranties of up to 15 years. More than 900 units have already been sold, with nearly 1,100 expected in operation by the end of 2026. Customers can choose between 528kWh or 442kWh CATL batteries for the single deck and 442kWh for the double deck. CEO Jean-Marc Gales said the new Electroliner showcases class-leading innovation and value. With running costs up to 70% lower than diesel, Wrightbus targets a 38% #UK and #Ireland market share by 2026.
