A lot of pepper #seeds have sprouted in a #worm bin, the moisture, temperature, and nutrients made those seeds germinate because I keep the worm casting shallow. The #worms love it.

@Nodpisigma seeds love #wormcasting to germinate add it to your mix.

The decline of the #EarthWorms population is global.

This is a tragedy because they are our best ally to help decompose the organic matter.

They provide the most powerful #fertilizer that we know of. They help us reduce the volume of trash. They help shape our #landscape, feed our livestock...

I talk on this profile about how to farm them on a small scale.

@compost

I wish the worm that left this cast had actually covered the tip of the leaf joint... the whole thing would have looked like some odd little beastie with a very big tail. Yes I could've moved the leaf to compose the shot, but that would've been cheating. 😀

@barbara_saurus those love #wormcasting we have two of those and even in winter they do well indoor.

Here is our mailbox flower bed. In the heat of the summer

It is a #NoDig tiny #garden that is amended with our #compost and #wormcasting. It is mulched with wood chips.

We will plant more #flowers next spring. All of this was free.

@compost

Our indoor #trees that have received #wormcasting are doing well this winter.

It is rewarding to see the results of the work done with #worms I simply can not go back to #gardening without them.

The difference between before and after is that big.

To me, #vermiculture is the superior way to #compost

@nicole2g @compost Thanks, that’s good to know about the #wormcasting. I am a novice when it comes to worms but they have been a wonderful addition this autumn.

@pawsforthought @compost i've done some searches on the subject because i prefer to use the most local product i can. People that have done this will either use sawdust or compost made out of wood chips.

In my mix i definitly use #wormcasting that makes the germination rate of the seeds a lot higher. It is best done when just harvested because still moist.

Last night was around 20F that is why i take the #worms inside the house.

The worms are fed a cup of compost that they process in about 3 days.

Even in winter i can harvest #wormcasting and keep #gardening
