fakI am going to be able to delete so many emails from my inbox in a few weeks' time, but the latest one to arrive is the big one: confirmation of how to claim my six-star medal if/when I complete Tokyo marathon in just over 15 days. I didn't get their invite to the special breakfast (I wouldn't have gone anyway) so it's a relief to know I am definitely properly on their list. Noch immer etwas lahm vom Mauerweglauf, bei dem es mich ja in diesem Jahr so richtig zerstört hatte, stand als Saisonabschluss der Berlin Marathon auf dem Programm. Dabei habe ich dann auch – unvernünftigerweise …– neue Schuhe ausprobiert. Ich bin nicht mit meinen bequemen Clifton an den Start gegangen, sondern habe standesgemäß Carbonschuhe getragen. Das Ganze dann in echten Menschenmassen, unvorstellbar, wie unwahrscheinlich viele Teilnehmer und Zuschauer diesmal dabei waren. Aber lest selbst …
