@goblin @teq @jadehopepunk i think one area we've dropped the ball a bit is making use of other group's learnings, resources and communities. i think at least 1/4, maybe 3/4 of stuff we're doing across our community, is stuff that people have already done, here or internationally. we've gotta make more effort to find those things and work with more collaborators globally (and conversely make sure we make our work usable and findable to other groups)

As much as I love my digital notes systems, I've realised that one of the reasons I keep coming back to physical notes organising is that my notebook is a form of 'mind palace', that is, having the information connected with physical space in a way I can continually revisit, is possibly the reason why physical notes feel so much easier to comprehend and connect in my head.

Do any of you find physical knowledge storage easier or make use of physical memory aids?

I am wondering how i can modify my system to actually make use of this feature as it was certainly not intentional

@goblin so relatable.. the thing thats helped me most is a paper planner i carry with me everywhere cos my brain just cant internalise digital reminders and calendars as real. when im in the habit of checking it it is the best but i dont have a foolproof method to not forget that...
time sensitive things like sleeping on time, thats another story

#WorkOutLoud Scope is so critical for the functioning of my ADHD brain, I'm really suffering from no set scope on my tech. I really need to setup some way to brief any use of a particular device. My phone is easy. Uninstall anything that goes out of scope, and write a note of what the device is for on the back of it, because this won't change. Laptop and PC seem harder, anyone know of a purposefully intentional approach to using a computer? Even just a "what are you here for?" on boot??

was out looking for places to sq**t last night and looking for good big walls out in the open for a renegade drive in cinema.

We found this really cool section of road where the light rail tram tracks were still in the road!! Right outside a big auspost sorting centre: vaguely https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?lat=-34.936662&lon=138.575481

very cool.

also if you're interested / know anyone interested in either of those ideas reply in tagged only hehe

Does anyone in adl know of any diy auto shops? i'm thinking like ABK for cars, kinda guided time to work on ur vehicle, i'm watching videos on stuff to learn what to look for but it's hard to poke around just in my carpark and having limited tools at my disposal (for now). Need to at least redo the head gasket but not sure how deep to go. Anyways , more importantly i'm going to start taking stock of the vehicles various systems and figure out what parts i need to source/service #WorkOutLoud
#WorkOutLoud updates a big part of my dependency on cenno is that I work more than full time hours on community projects, while I'm not super keen to commercialise these projects, it's also not a realistic amount of time/energy to invest anyway and I want to build more sustainable relationships with working. I've been talking to my friend about doing some disability support work. It feels aligned with my values and mable.com seems easy to naviagate? I'd appreciate insights from experienced ppls!

@bounding_star @goblin I know that @teq actively practices documenting in the open (I’m sure they have they own explanation). Teq any tips for folks getting started on publically documenting all the things?
