43 years ago today the New York Times reported on Page A20 what would become the AIDS pandemic that killed millions of people worldwide. #HIV #AIDS

On the eve of #aidslifecycle here is another reason #whyiride
Here in 1996 at the Sweet Inspiration Cafe my friend Keith said to me, "Dan, you are not going to believe It, but I am on a new experimental medication, and get this, I have NO viral load." There is still an imprint on the floor from my jaw. The protease inhibitors were a new hope and a game changer. Today we have new tools like PrEP, PEP, TAP, and U=U, which have all been game changers. #HIV #AIDS
On the eve of #aidslifecycle I like to remember #whyIride
In 1995, I stopped in at the Castro Country Club for coffee. Everyone here was friendly, and I struck up a conversation with a man named Tom. He disclosed to me that he was 50 years old and once had a group of ten friends that he thought he was going to grow old with He was the only one left. The others had all died of AIDS. It was then that I really understood and got the vast scale and relentless cruelty of this horrible disease.
Unfortunately, the flu is doing well and does not allow me to start cycling kilometers this month. So.. back to the last bike ride in February.

I shortened my day at work and got on the #bicycle. And although #wmordewind gave me a hard time .. I was driving through myself. I listened to the new episode of Przemek Górczyk's podcast, in which the guest was a journalist and documentary filmmaker - Mateusz Lachowicz. He talked about the activities in Ukraine and how much it has changed in 365d.

And by the way, it's been a year... 365 days ago I was terribly afraid of the information coming then from across the eastern border. Today, more mature, a bit calm (stoicism saves your ass here), I keep my fingers crossed for the Ukrainians.

Ps: I don't know why, but listening to the conversations, I remembered about sp Waldek Milewicz, who reported all the war activities of the 90s and the beginning of the 21st century. I liked his show #DziwnyJestTenSwiat.

Finally got round to putting the mudguards back on the bike. Sun still shining for an early more ride, but the standing water and mud starting to get a bit cold now. Still glorious fun if wearing the right kit. #WhyIride #getoutside #cycling #cyclinglife #Hampshire #coast #outsideisfree
Reasons to build #cycle lanes via #CyclingUK: https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/six-reasons-build-cycle-lanes
1. Give space to people walking and cycling – and business booms
2. Cycle lanes move more people in less space, and reduce congestion
3. Spending on cycle lanes and active travel schemes is fantastic value for money
4. Build the bike lanes and people will use them
5. The public wants more bike lanes

Six reasons to build cycle lanes | Cycling UK

The narrative that cycle lanes are bad for business, cause congestion, aren’t used and that nobody wants them is the lie that’s half-way round the world before the truth has got its shoes on. So, here’s Cycling UK’s positive case for investing in cycling and building more separated cycle lanes. We're focussing on six key reasons, but of course there’s many more. Please use

After a rather frenetic morning watching the #RedRoses in Rugby World Cup final with extreme highs, lows and hoarse throats it was a rather a welcome escape to the trails of Moors Valley Country Park with the kids for some fun in the sun. Back in time to see if the Men take a leaf out of the womens play book and kick on a gear. #WhyIRide #Cycling #cycledon #getoutside #outsideisfree #Forest #familyfun
