Hetzner Considered Hostile: A PSA - Ten Forward's Blog

On 8 October 2024 I received an email from Hetzner. This was a forwarded abuse report. As is standard practice in the web hosting business Hetzner forwarded this to me so I could take action on it. This was no ordinary abuse report. This was targeted harassment from a threat actor that has been harassing me and my friends for a long time. Now they have started targeting Ten Forward itself in an attempt to cause disruption in the day to day operations of Ten Forward.

Wo will man denn heute #VPS laufen haben? Mir ist jetzt schon mehrfach @ubernauten aufgefallen aber da scheint es nur "normales" Webhosting zu geben. Gibt es etwas Ähnliches auch für VPS?

EU sollte selbstverständlich sein, kleiner solidarischer Anbieter. Hetzner, OVH, etc kann ich selber finden.

Since these days I'm spending most of my day out of the house I'm planning to deploy a remote #FreeBSD workstation for myself. A system with all my development stuff installed which I can reach using any of my computers or my iPad in order to do some web development on the go. Any suggestion for a good (and BSD friendly) European cloud provider which I can use for this? Usually I use Contabo but I'd like to see which other options can I use 😃
