given i am passionately following progress of the Project Banana / KDE Linux atomic immutable project, & read everything i come across about it, when i saw this article prominently headlined with "KDE Linux" i jumped on it with glee.

pffffft, it's nothing of the kind, being merely a poorly named article about the Plasma DE itself, not the actual [alpha] distro. baaaah! 🙄🤦‍♀️

after a coupla months running my main panel / dock at the top of the screen, to get reacquainted with the boring existence of the dirty proles, i have now returned it to the rhs edge of the screen, just as #TheGreatProphetZarquon intended 🤪 🙃

yesterday arvo my once-beloved ArchLinux Plasma primary-boot once more summarily froze solid again [even ignoring REISUB again], as has been happening now randomly for many months or maybe a year'ish, after years & years & years of never doing so. as i was planning on still doing my weekly updates on sunday, it meant it still only has Plasma 6.5.5, not 6.6.0. anyway, in my increasing dotage & senility, i have grown disinterested over the past 18 months in needing to still do the occasional forensic troubleshooting & finessing of Olden Days Of Yore... plus, this latest freeze, ipso facto the complete disjuncture to my work in hand til that point, infuriated me completely, sufficient to reboot into my tertiary-boot, Fedora Kinoite, & keep going with what i was doing there... after first running updates on it then rebooting again.

accordingly, credit to the marvellous Fedora Plasma Devs & Maintainers, it now runs Plasma 6.6.0 too. one of the things i was keen to try was the new #Spectacle, with its #OCR text extraction tool. this works ootb, not needing me to fart about manually installing #tesseract as i have been reading needs to happen in other distros. so that's pretty lovely, however, not at all lovely, & indeed triggering a bout of out-loud swearing by me, was this discovery... it uses Merkan English, not proper english, ie, pommie or strayan. oh yuck, i feel so dirty now. merkan is to english as magamoron is to decency, morality, ethics, education, empathy, kindness, compassion...

have used, & enjoyed, #kdiff3 as my default graphical diff app in all my various distros, having first discovered it in my default boot, :archlinux: :kde: , years ago. it has been quite an up & down ride though, coz when it works it's excellent, but over the long haul it has broken many times, partly or completely. for the past week or two it's been pissing me off again. though it launches, both standalone & when invoked from #Dolphin, as soon as i click the icon to begin the manual diffing, its GUI freezes & has to be closed. trying several recent versions via downgrade hasn't helped, & reverting its config file to default also hasn't. i've finally lost all patience with it, so have removed it, & now my default diff app is #Meld... which is a pity given it's GTK. i still have #Kompare installed, but only use it for simple things, given it is barely configurable & flexible compared to the other two. sassen frassen rassen.

been several months now since i gave Tower her 3rd-boot, being her first atomic/immutable,  Kinoite, to supplement her 1st-boot   , & her 2nd-boot  SparkyLinux. have been using Kinoite daily. am now conflicted...

imo, i hope hope hope that project banana, aka, KDE-Linux   reaches Beta asap, at which point i might well replace Kinoite with it... not only, but bigly part of my desire, to eliminate as much merkanism from my pc as possible, such is my abhorrence & disgust with that failing fascist state of murder, invasion, violence, & skyfairydelusionism.
