I wrote up my #homeAutomation experience with #homeAssistant, #hue, #tradfri, #alexa, #matter and #zigbee networks over on the Home Assistant forums. Hopefully it'll be useful for others having similar problems.

Had chance to do some digging into the delay issues I've been seeing with my #zigbee #tradfri lights on a Tradfri hub, and #alexa. Commands issued to the lights from the Ikea "Home smart 1" app on iPhone work instantly, commands issued from #homeAssistant via the Ikea Tradfri integration are also instant. But commands issued via Alexa and the "Ikea Home smart 1" skill often have a delay of 30s or more.

So, I fired up tcpdump. The traffic's encrypted, obvs, but I can at least see streams...

I looked up how to reset an #IKEA #tradfri #zigbee 230V light bulb. #Google #Gemini suggested that I connect it to mains power and poke into the hole at the back. There is no hole at the back of a 230V mains light bulb.

I repeat: Google told me to shove a wire into 230V mains voltage.

Wie ein neuer Beitrag im #IKEA #Tradfri-#Subreddit zeigt, scheint es erste Hinweise darauf zu geben, dass das #SmartHome-Ökosystem des schwedischen Möbelhauses in Zukunft bald ein eigenes neues #Thermostat aufweist. Ein #Reddit-User berichtet dort, dass es zu seiner Überraschung möglich war, Thermostate vom Hersteller Eve zu seinem #IKEADirigera-#Hub hinzuzufügen, und fand in diesem Zusammenhang auch ein Thermostat von IKEA.

Anyone out there having problems with #alexa and #ikea #tradfri smart bulbs recently?

Our bulbs are connected to a Tradfri hub, and Alexa has the "Ikea Home smart 1" skill. The Tradfri hub is also integrated with our #homeassistant server.

Any lighting voice command issued via Alexa are taking a minute or more to take effect since about a week ago, but commands issued via the Ikea Home Smart 1 app (on iPhone), or Home Assistant, take effect immediately.

Moin. Ich hab mein #smarthome größtenteils vom großen Schweden. Mein Problem ist das der Hub abgeraucht ist.

Mein #Homeassistent erkennt zwar die Leuchtmittel über Zigbee, aber keiner der Taster gibt seine Entitäten Preis.

Andere Hubs erkannten die Geräte garnicht oder die UI war die Hölle. Hat jemand eine Praktikable Lösung? Zur Not hole ich mir auch noch nen #Dirigera

Got woken up at 3am by this thing cycling its relay madly.

This is the second of the 1st gen Tradfri smart switches to fail of late. I’m getting rid of all of its generational peers today - I can’t trust them now. :(
