@tuban_muzuru @GeofCox @ChrisMayLA6 More info about the UNI Global Union which is active in 150 nations worldwide and represents 20 million workers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UNI_Global_Union #UNIGlobalUnion #tradesunion Not present on #Mastodon as far as I can tell.

@tuban_muzuru So, does anybody out there fancy forming a global trades union? Initially for gig workers and then for whoever may benefit. I have no idea how it could be done but am sure many others do. Would be happy to pay a sub 🙂 #workersrights #tradesunion @GeofCox @ChrisMayLA6

@liamdv4 I'll agree there was a lot of toxicity in the union movement in the 1970s. In my first job, you had to be a member of the union to get the job, and you were fined if you didn't attend union meetings. But as the only place the time and place of the next meeting was publicised was at the preceding meeting, if you weren't in the clique you couldn't find out where the meetings were going to be so you couldn't attend.

I *still* think #TradesUnion are a good thing, though!
