Good to hear on the Today programme that Road User Charging is being mooted… but it seems to have been broken via the right wing newspapers so they can have a good run to wind up resistance and prevent it from happening. “Watch this space”.

On the Today programme they just said that the basic rate of income tax hasn’t changed in 50 years. It certainly felt like it did in 2008 when the 10p “starting” rate was abolished (I definitely noticed!) and probably did in 1999 when it was introduced. Disingenuous reporting, what a surprise.

Careful Justin Webb. You're getting very close to accusing someone of being an antisemite.

@BBCRadio4 - and now the best #thoughtfortheday I can remember! Who's editing #TodayProgramme today? Thanks a million

Cabinet minister on the Today Programme a few minutes ago said that “anyone who has any transport needs will benefit from the freeze in fuel duty”. I wish this was his idea of a funny April Fool, given the 50% increase in single bus fares a couple of months ago, 4.6% rise in rail fares last month, and impact of the driving encouraged by a(nother) duty freeze on pedestrians and cyclists. But while if asked the government will say it “doesn’t think that transport is just cars and really wants a to encourage more sustainable transport” I think he was serious.

Hurrah for #Autonormativity, also known as #CarBrain

On #BBC4 #todayProgramme 14/10 there was a piece on the #UkraineWar about civilians evacuating their homes because of the Russian invasion. It was depressing, not just because it was an evacuation but there was the thinnest of contexts. This was the morning after more and new evidence of murdered, surrendered Ukrainian soldiers. Now 'today' there's this documentary of the Russian Army using civilians for target practice in Kherson. Owenna Griffiths Ed. please check this https://x.com/CaolanRob/status/1843749934379515953

Kherson is a living NIGHTMARE I just went to a city in Ukraine where the Russians have been killing civilians with POV drones constantly and it’s getting worse What I saw was shocking. The locals told me the only thing protecting them is the leaves 🍃 on the trees and now, the

Nick Robinson stop showing your blue petticoats. You're meant to be impartial. Use of language gives you away. Why should talking about business be solely for tory types? Everyone needs business, not just the wealthy. Your compromised attitude is embarrassing. #todayprogramme #bbcradio4 #BBCRadio4Today

Hmmm … It’s Queen Camilla’s birthday.

Did the #TodayProgramme *really* need to tell us?
