Have I missed the sound of dropping the terminal g in a plummy accent as if it was the 18th century?
No, not at all.

Cabinet minister on the Today Programme a few minutes ago said that “anyone who has any transport needs will benefit from the freeze in fuel duty”. I wish this was his idea of a funny April Fool, given the 50% increase in single bus fares a couple of months ago, 4.6% rise in rail fares last month, and impact of the driving encouraged by a(nother) duty freeze on pedestrians and cyclists. But while if asked the government will say it “doesn’t think that transport is just cars and really wants a to encourage more sustainable transport” I think he was serious.
Hurrah for #Autonormativity, also known as #CarBrain…

The revelation that Ricky Gervais is an annoying yet funny shit probably isn't that great a surprise.
By accident, I just heard an item on BBC Radio 4's Today programme covering the Athens wildfires. Not a mention of global heating or the climate emergency. "Of course, Greece is used to wildfires," says the reporter, "they have them every year."
Mishal Hussein skewers the Israel representative just be asking questions.
Questions like, but he lied about supporting Corbyn when he knew they were going to lose, is his judgement poor or is he mendacious?
That's a false dichotomy, it's neither it's called politics, small politics.
This is the desiderata that the media are left with when the incumbent party is waving a white flag and crying we are unarmed, unarmed.
