Yes, you did read that right.
Be afraid, very afraid.

Inside the BBC, Gerry Adams’s libel victory in Dublin’s High Court immediately prompted radical thinking. Few in the Republic yet realise that the most profound implications of this case could be borne not by British licence fee payers, but by the Irish public.

My overwhelming response to them is 'Who'?
UKIP has a word in it's name that they should remember is not solely an English desire!
My dander is up today because I stood and looked at the bullet holes in the columns of the GPO from the Easter Rising yesterday.
Speaking as a Northern Irish Protestant, some Unionists have completely colonial attitudes to the place.
The North of Ireland does not need these sorts of politicians; it does not need the Union at all.
And Unionism, if you like that sort of thing, would be better and more successful without them.
Is Sunak actually proposing conscripting Irish Nationalist and Republican teenagers in the North of Ireland to the British Army? If so, lol, good luck with that.
If not, I’d just point out that the North of Ireland was
exempted from conscription in both WW1 and WW2. If it is to be exempted from National Service, maybe a lot of teenagers would find changing their home addresses to Belfast or Derry an attractive option?

<< some NI unionists are jumping on this as an excuse to argue for a hard border in Ireland.
Exactly like #Brexit and later the #Protocol, they are missing that this issue *encourages* a harder border between #Ireland and Great Britain, and grows support for unification by implying the current NI model doesn't work.
#Unionists are the new #SinnFein
legacy of Empire is yet to be ended in the relation to the UK union.
I have friends and family in England, I wish you no harm, I hope that you can restore sanity to the politics there, for all our sakes, while we are still part of this union.
However, I just don't want to be part of the UK union any longer. I would like your influence over the place I call home gone - the British ruling classes have done enough damage. It is time to go, so we can repair it.
