Once a magnificent old growth tree. Chopped down by loggers many years ago; its trunk uprooted over time. It has rested on these Nitinat Lake shores for a long time.
There's big trunk graveyards in backroad lakes all over the island.

#thicktrunktuesday A tree that fell during the storm on the road behind our house. In the first photo it looks like a huge pipe or cable has been placed under the tree. That is only possible if you cut off part of the roots. No wonder such a tree falls over in a storm. A shame and dangerous.
