So instead of a new HT I came home with a hotspot, a speaker mic for the ID-50a, and a few cables. Nearly bought an SDRPlay, but I need to figure out if it will do what I want. #hamradio #kenwood #thd75

The APRS stuff looks cool, and the screen is brighter than the ID-52a…but oy even with the manual I found it painful to play with. Although, to be fair, the manual in question was on my phone, and standing at a store counter is not a great learn-the-new-radio environment #hamradio #kenwood #thd75

For example, why doesn’t its repeater list allow FM repeaters like Icom does? And why couldn’t we get a GPS lock? And why, oh why is the bluetooth not compatible with Air Pods? If you’re going to use some other standard, you’d best be selling a compatible BT headset…but nope. #hamradio #kenwood #thd75

I spent a few hours at HRO yesterday trying to talk myself into liking and buying the Kenwood TH-D75. I still want to want it, but so much on that radio is just odd or broken. It wasn’t fun to use. #hamradio #kenwood #thd75

After wasting a ton of plastic, we arrived first ever #thd75 case. It has still some defects I need to address. Also intending to create a TPU bumper around or at corners.

For the love of everything good, did anyone have ever managed to get **ANY** mainstream consumer bluetooth headset working with #kenwood #thd75?

I tried almost every ear bud in the shopThey simply don't pair with this radio. JBL 500 bt over ear headphone and JBL clip 3 bt speaker that I found in mud climbing a while ago works. JBL endurance and jabla elite 4 not worked even they support HSP

WTF is wrong with this radio?

I couldn't sleep as it is common place lately. Boringly checking my phone in bed I thought about heavens and mechanical garbages we fly through them. I looked and realised an #ISS pass is in 8 min. Got up, picked up #thd75 and went outside. This is what I got. Missed the beginning and made a terrible job tracking between buildings but first #sstv picture of the year!

At #HamRadio2024, I treated myself with a #thd75. I am confused on what the [CALL] button is supposed to do. From the manual, I get that this provides quick access to a "calling" frequency. So, pressing [CALL] and menu 204 should be identical. Yet, all my device does, is entering TX like PTT but only when in analog modes.

I just updated the firmware to 1.03 without any effect on this behavior.

Anybody able to shed some light on this.
