I am a #geographer interested in the politics of #environmental #technology. I look at #discourse of #participation & #transformation & #technoscientific #promises in fields such as: #river #restoration #geoenergy #geothermal. More recently #agroecology #carbon #farming
I left academia, but I am doing more or less the same stuff in more or less the same way at FiBL , the Research institute of #organic agriculture

#introduction
I’m finishing a PhD in #semiotics, focusing on #AI and #Society, especially the sociocultural construction of AI and #tech in general. I’m writing and talking about #robots in #scifi, #GPT-3 and its reception, the #anthropomorphism of technology, #automationbias and the #connotations and consequences of #technoscientific vocabularies.
My wider goal is to reveal the cultural repositories that novel things get meanings from, e.g. ficton, folklore, myths, animism.
