If you're using an android phone you need this:

I have been on the lookout for a sensible Gboard replacement that wasn't making my (voice) typing experience painful, and so far only FUTO Keyboard managed to provide that.

It has really good offline voice typing as well, which is something I use a lot.

I can not recommend this enough!

FUTO Keyboard

FUTO Keyboard is a modern, privacy-focused keyboard that runs fully offline. Enjoy swipe typing, autocorrect, predictive text, and more—no internet connection required.

Quite a fan of #FlorisBoard myself. It's on #Fdroid. It's #FOSS, and it has #swype style gesture typing (a must for me).

The one place I want #AI is in my mobile phone keyboard. The built in Google one is almost pointedly obtuse when picking swipe words. There's only so many options that might logically follow ffs.

Zombie #swype on my old phone was better.

Any #recommendations?

After getting fed up with my Samsung phone refusing to learn my texting habits the way Swype did I went and tried to find Swype in the app store. Only to discover, to my dismay, that it is no longer a thing.

Is there an Android app that does what Swype used to do? i.e., learn what you mean when you draw it on the keyboard instead of changing "with" to "Wyeth" for no freaking reason. I don't even know a Wyeth so why is it in my phone's memory and it won't remember "fucking" instead of "ducking."

Since yesterday, the really cool fork of #openboard with active development and support of adding a #swype library manually, got rebranded into #Heliboard. A release on #izzyondroidrepo and #fdroid should be coming soon. @IzzyOnDroid

@Kevin20221110 @mrakmm I finally got around to trying the https://github.com/erkserkserks/openboard fork of #OpenBoard with the native gesture library. I definitely like it more than the #AnySoftKeybord, so thanks again for the recommendation.

Se você quer usar o modo swype do teclado padrão do Android AOSP, mas não quer instalar o Google Apps inteiro para isso, eis o passo a passo para usar com o Android 13 do LineageOS 20.

Primeiro, baixe o Google Apps versão pico. Site do OpenGApps.

Instale o pacote lzip, caso não o tenha:

apt-get install lzip -y

Extraia o arquivo do GApps com:

unzip open_gapps-arm64-11.0-pico-20220215.zip

Agora execute os seguintes comandos, linha por linha:

cd Optional tar --lzip -xf swypelibs-lib-arm64.tar.lz cd swypelibs-lib-arm64/common/lib64 ls

Você deve encontrar um arquivo chamado libjni_latinimegoogle.so. Nas Opções do Desenvolvedor no celular Android, ative o USB debugging e Root debugging.

Num computador com o ADB instalado e com o celular Android conectado no computador via USB, execute:"

adb devices adb root adb remount adb push libjni_latinimegoogle.so /system/lib64/ adb unroot adb reboot

Even after more than four years of using #GrapheneOS a new user article can surprise me with apps I missed.

I had the original #Swype keyboard on my #Pixel4, but my new #PixelFold would not let me install it. I didnt like any of the alternatives i tried, and reluctantly used GBoard, but, even though Jordan Spencer didn't like it, I discovered i did like the #AnySoftKeyboard. So thanks for the reference.

Ok so I'm using Gboard as my current keyboard, and while I think the idea is great, I have to admit I spend more time correcting than actually typing.
I used to use Swype, but I remember thinking Gboard was actually better when I tried it.
However, please give me suggestions for a good keyboard for a binder with potato fingers.
OS is oxygen OS 13.1 if it matters.
