I'm making many different efforts to obtain what we need without money being required (to a surprising degree of success for many material items thanks to Freecycle and what gets abandoned at a truckstop and some very nice people).

However, some things just have to involve currency to solve them, such as bureaucracy fees, car loan, car insurance and internet bills.

I am making new efforts to find reliable income remotely, but while that remains uncertain, we seriously need #MutualAid help with covering our bills and obligations.

I found out last night that Mama Cat needs surgery for bladder stones.

It's going to be in the ballpark of $4000 according to the vet clinic, which wouldn't normally be an expense I couldn't reluctantly absorb, but I was laid off from my job a couple weeks ago.

There are a lot of people out there that need help more than I do, so please, take care of them first. But if you happen to be in a place to share this post or throw a few dollars towards Mama Cat, I'd really appreciate the help.

Need some #help from a #Homebrew pro:

Homebrew often does not upgrade packages, even though there's a newer version available.

Why does Homebrew tell me there are no outdated formulas, but when I explicitly name a formula within the upgrade command, it actually finds a newer version...?

I would expect "brew up && brew upgrade" to upgrade all outdated formulas.

Am I getting something wrong?
