SIGNATURES NEEDED: Open Letter to HarperCollins

On April 3, 2025, Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, Macmillan Publishers, Simon & Schuster, and Sourcebooks sent a letter to Congress in support of the Institute of Library and Museum Services (IMLS) following Executive Order 14238, signed on March 14, which calls for the dismantling of IMLS. HarperCollins is notably missing from this list of publishers. We demand to know why HarperCollins did NOT sign this letter and what they plan to do to support IMLS and all libraries moving forward. Author and AABB member Michael Leali has drafted an open letter to HarperCollins with this request. We need signatures from authors, illustrators, librarians, booksellers, literary agents, educators, and industry professionals in support of this message. If you are willing to add your name to the list of signees, please complete this form by Monday, April 21, 2025.

I see the man-baby has suspended his tariffs for 90 days to allow other governments can ‘negotiate’ with him.

What he really means is that he is going to bully other nations into accepting a deal that he wants.

The man-baby thinks he is the ‘King of the World’ and the world will do anything he wants. It is time to teach him a lesson - totally ignore the man-baby and move on by trading with each other. And do not invite the man-baby to any meeting anywhere.

The United States has around 260 million adults and about half of them live ‘paychech to paycheck’ and can’t afford imported goods. Another 11% are poor and they also can’t afford to buy imported goods. That leaves about 100m adults who might be able to afford imported goods.

There are easily 100m adults in other places of the world who could easily buy imported goods. The rest of the world needs to turn away from the United States and trade with each other.

The World needs to leave the United States to fester and watch the man-baby have a complete tantrum when he does not get what he wants.
