The history behind this game is super interesting. There is no canonical "Trek" game as it is the result of years of people typing the code direct into mainframes and tweaking it in a kind of Cambrian evolution. I did a big write up on the Steam page for my version, CGA Trek, out today!

CGA Trek on Steam

Cyan Alert! Set your eyeballs on stunned because it's time for CGA Trek! Your continuing mission is to seek out and destroy an invading fleet of warships in this modern homage to the classic turn-based strategy "Trek" game that originated on mainframe computers in the 1970s.

My prototype "#Commodore Trinity" stack with my #SuperStarTrek running on each system.

This is made of sturdy corrugated, but will make the final version from plywood, I think. To be used at events etc.

I now have #SuperStarTrek on 7 different 8-bit systems.

This classic 80 column printer terminal based game has been lovingly and painstakingly converted to 20, 22 and 40 column 8 bit computers. All with sympathetic enhancements, where appropriate.

Take a look at my itchio page.

For my #BBCMicro conversions of #SuperStarTrek I have added a version specifically for monochrome monitors. Inverse characters is slightly more involved than other systems so I have opted for the flashing attribute. The full colour varieties are still there, obvs! All available from the boot menu of the Beeb disk image.
Pleased with my #AmstradCPC conversion of #SuperStarTrek. It will require lots more testing to iron out inevitable bugs, obviously.
Reimplementations of the Contents of BASIC Computer Games

What is a Smart Response XE? https://hackaday.com/tag/smart-response-xe/

It's an ATmega128RFA1 with graphic display, and keyboard...It has ICSP pins which is how you can program it.
In the pictures you can see the clip I use to hold my #USBasp in place while programming

Testing out my newly aquired big (and chuffin heavy) #CRT telly. SCART doesn't work, but composite does, and it's very nice indeed!

Added inverse colour highlights to coordinates on sides of Galaxy Record display, as my other versions (not Beeb). It helps indicate your position in the galaxy. Amended MODE 6 and MODE 5 versions for #AcornElectron #SuperStarTrek
