Why do people post screenshots (as images) on Fediverse instead of copying the text and sharing it? 

If you are a decent fediversian, you always add Alt text to shared image, but why even attach such image? Unless you want to prove someone posted this, but then again - is image (that can be easily drawn) an enough proof?

Stop sharing text as image - use text  Markdown-enabled instances can utilize > and enable text formatting as a quote, making it even more appealing.

Text is searchable, it consumes less space and bandwidth to transmit, is rendered in reader's chosen font, is more accessible. Only benefits
