I'm making the other typeface I made for CGA Trek available for anyone to use. It's called "CGA Luke 4px Regular" and it is designed to be displayed four pixels tall and has both upper case and lower case.

"CGA Luke 6px Bold" is a typeface that is only 6 pixels tall and contains both upper case and lower case. License is CC-BY-SA so can be used in commercial projects. A "regular" variant is available too.

I made it for the game CGA Trek where I only had 320x200 pixels to work with. Enjoy!

I love that CGA fans always apologise in advance for loving the searing eye colours. Yes we know it feels like the end of Indiana Jones where the bad guy opens the ark and his face melts but some of us like that feeling.

Thoughts on making a game in CGA (usually 4 colours at 320x200 pixels):

* The magenta and cyan palette was ugly by 1990 but feels fresh in 2025. Colour combinations really do go in and out of fashion.

* It's a lot of fun making games for low resolution. A pleasant chunky feel and forces really considered UI choices.

* Good CGA art is hard. I think I did OK but lots of solid blocks of colour. A lot of the beauty of CGA is in dithering.

* I cheated on framerates
