Evening drive southbound near the county line. Same highway I always take, different mood.
I spend a lot of time chasing gravel roads and tiny lines on topo maps, but nights like this are a good reality check: you don’t always need a forest road to feel that “on the way somewhere” calm. Sometimes it’s three lanes, 65 mph, and the sun burning out the last embers of the day.
Trying to remember that the world right next to my usual routine is still worth noticing. The “micro-pilgrimage” can just be the drive home.
What’s a completely ordinary road near you that turns into something else when the light hits it right? Share stories or pictures of your favorite moments that the world didn't just go by unnoticed.
