Just a reminder that there are European-sovereign alternatives to the three major US cloud providers. To name a few: OVHCloud, Scaleaway, Outscale, Hetzner, and STACKIT. Goed nieuws: de Rijksoverheid sluit een deal met STACKIT, een Europees cloudplatform. Data blijft binnen Europa, er is auditrecht en een exitclausule.

Een stap in de goede richting. Maar data binnen Europa is niet hetzelfde als operationele controle. Wie beheert de sleutels? Wie grijpt in als het misgaat?

Locatie is een begin, geen eindpunt.
