ᗪaveAnyone have a review of #solokeys ? I was going to go with #yubikey again but I’d rather go with an #opensource alternative. Advice on #security anyone ?
pink@terminaltilt I have some Solo2 #SoloKeys (part of the crowdfunding) but the firmware is missing features and the development seems to have stopped. However FIDO2/WebAuthn should work.

The Mission: Kill off SMS based 2FA and move to hardware backed FIDO2 for my desktop and Proxmox logins. It is time to move my security away from a SIM card and into my own hands.
Testing Password Managers: Moving on from KeePassXC + Syncthing (it has served me well but can be fickle) to try out Proton Pass, which also supports hardware keys. I also had good experiences from Bitwarden and VaultWarden.

Pixelcode 🇺🇦Besides the #Nitrokey FIDO2, I also already have a Nitrokey U2F & a Solo Somu from #SoloKeys, so I wasn't too keen on paying 50€ + shipping for a new Nitrokey 3A Mini – a product I wouldn't need if my old key's firmware had been updated.

The only downside is that #Token2 manufacture their products outside Europe (Nitrokeys are made in 🇩🇪).

y una duda global que me choca mucho... el hecho de que el contacto USB, este desprotegido, en pelotas... no es un gran riesgo de un rapido deterioro!? si tengo pensado tener la llave en un llavero (hola? es una puta llave! normal, no?) o en el bolsillo sin llavero.. va a estar en continuo contacto / restriego con otras cosas que lleve en el bolsillo y por lo tanto se podria dañar, no? o el contacto usb de todas estas llaves son indestructibles...

It seems that the creators/founders completely abandoned the project at this point.
I created a small thread on their Discussions on their repo and I'd like to see what would happen if we bring enough attention to it.
So please, share this as much as possible, since they don't want to communicate, let's force them.

Months after sending an e-mail asking where the project was at since absolutely no updates whatsoever, it still is ignored.
I can safely say that Solokeys is a dead project. Buy Yubikey, it'll save you headaches.
