@M0YNG if the data is file based, have you considered syncthing?

#syncthing

@newstik @signalapp I had to "manually" disconnect the devices from home WiFi network and "help" the phones connect through WiFi Direct to make it work. Yes, it wouldn't have been terrible if it hadn't worked because I have daily local full Signal backups as well, automatically copied to the laptop through #Syncthing. But I intentionally wanted to test the advertised default method for transferring to a new phone again, and that's not suitable to a majority of users if it just stops at searching for the other device...

#today

I overslept and missed my #cocounselling appointment, so hoping to sort that out next; don't like trashing agreements!

#SyncThing appears to be keeping my #Obsidian notes unified across 3 home computers, yay.

#Gardening work later today will hopefully be cool and manageable, after today's passing bands of rain let up a bit.

And fingers crossed, 'break a leg' etc. to my love today, in tonight's opening night of their theatre production 😻

@crocodisle as for syncing my joplin notes, I use #syncthing on my devices and NAS
I used to sync 300 GB with #Syncthing. Now I'm syncing 5 MB with #Nextcloud. It's baby steps. I'm still doing double backups of the entire filesystem (#DejaDup and #rsync) to separate USB hard drives.
Syncthing Foundation released #Syncthing version 2.1.1. https://syncthing.net/downloads/

Had to replace my phone due to a hardware failure, and finally pulled the trigger on flashing with #GrapheneOS

So far, it's run flawlessly with all of my apps and my favorite part is it has sane defaults. A lot of things I worked hard to set up manually are just default settings, and all I can say is #feelsgoodman

My one complaint, and it makes sense and I fully understand why, is that there is no straightforward way to transfer apps, settings, and contacts, etc from a stock device to Graphene. Thankful for devs that support import/export configs, and #Syncthing for moving things over manually with relative smoothness.

Bin grad ΓΌber syncspirit gestolpert, hat da jemand zufΓ€llig Erfahrung damit? Angeblich kompatibel mit Syncthing...
