@Fando Yo me cambié a #KeePassXC, y sincronizo la base con #Syncthing. Tengo una red de sincronización entre la laptop, la tablet, el móvil (con #KeePassDX), mi home server, y la iMac del laboratorio donde trabajo vía #Tailscale gratuito. Hasta el momento no he tenido problemas.

Man hat z. B. einen Unfall und Angehörige kommen nicht an die wichtigen Infos ran, die man im Passwortmanager gespeichert hat. Zum Beispiel ist der Linux-Computer durch ein Passwort gesichert, man verwendet 2FA durch Schlüsseldateien, Angehörige kennen sich technisch nicht aus usw.

In solchen Fällen kann ein gelegentlicher Papierausdruck hilfreich sein. Nahe Angehörige informiert man über den Aufbewahrungsort.

Da #Bitwarden eine komische Entwicklung zu nehmen scheint - was sind denn die Alternativen wenn man einen Mix aus #iOS, #Linux, #MacOS und #Windows hat?

#keepassxc für MacOS und Linux und #Keepassium für iOS? Und die Datenbank auf dem NAS speichern?

Family IT support weekend:

Migrated my Dad's setup from Proton Pass to Keepass (+ Syncthing) 👌🏽

Keepass is just so much faster and works with much less friction. He tried it and is also more happy with it. I'm always hesitant to change workflows for elderly but in this case it worked out great 👌🏽

Just now restored my mum's bookmark bar in Firefox lol (Ctrl + shift + b). She wasn't using bookmarks for months because the bar somehow was hidden and she assumed that Firefox had dropped the feature 😆😆😆😆😆

Next I'll also migrate my Mum away from Proton Pass to Keepass.
Then I can finally cancel the Proton Family nonsense 😄

Opinioni sui #browser su #linux: avendo sia i flatpak che il pacchetto tradizionale, quale preferire? C'è una reale differenza in termini di sicurezza? C'è #floorp che mi tenta, ma dovrei installarlo come flatpak e prima di mettermi a trafficare, visto il problema dell'integrazione con #keepassxc, vorrei essere certissima di quello che faccio. E perché poi dovrei avere tutti i vari browser come flatpak.

@MelissaBearTrix @lettosprey no. #keepassxc is fantastic for me, & i regard its being offline as a major bonus, not a drawback -- i will never use any online service for any private data.

I think I'm going to take the #keepassxc challenge starting right now. I've been running it for a long time, but only for managing ssh keys. I've just imported all my non-shared #bitwarden secrets to it and have turned bw off on my daily driver for now. It is all very disorienting, as expected, but we shall see how it all works out. I can always fail back to bw if I need to.
