CasperAfter a week of waiting, my SkyConnect dongle is finally here! 🥳
If you are looking for electrical outlets that can be controlled by #HomeAssistant, and #HomeDepot is your best choice of getting something (I'm not suggesting that it should be, just accepting that for some it will be) they sell a brand 'X Series' set of plugs that have Matter support. They are priced comparably with the previously mentioned Hubspace devices. Obviously you need a Matter Router to work with that. Be nice if the #SkyConnect could get a useful firmware update for that.
@cemizm Für meinen NabuCasa #SkyConnect #Zigbee Coordinator gibt es wohl auch eine neuere Firmware … Ich habe noch nie ein Upgrade gemacht und habe den seit 2023 im Einsatz. Meine FW ist 7.1.1.0 und es gibt wohl 7.4.4.0 – aber die Upgrade-Prozedur ist mir noch nicht klar und ich habe ein bisschen Bammel davor, ob hinterher alles ist wie vorher. Denn meine 74 Geräte alle neu verbinden wäre kein Spaß …
De primeras se supone que #zigbee2mqtt es mejor que #ZHA, mas abierto, mas compatible, también expone mas cosas, etc
Por otro lado, si quiero usar Z2M debería flashear el #SkyConnect para actualizarle el firmware ya que el adapter "ezsp" que es el que funciona con mi versión del firmware de SkyConnect está como deprecado.
Y por otro lado, si muevo a Z2M, el SkyConnect entraría en uso solo para Z2M y por tanto HA no podría hacer uso de él para #Thread.

One of these (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004877936490.html) arrived from AliExpress today, paired straight away with my #HA #skyConnect dongle, and started logging data
I've ordered a few more now I know that this model works

It's relatively annoying that I've had to undo the #HomeAssistant core update 4 times already this month because each time it fails to keep #SkyConnect running. You remember? SkyConnect? That piece of hardware sold by HomeAssistant?
Jan EkholmContemplating adding a SkyConnect Zigbee dongle to our Home Assistant. Seems to be pretty ok, or at least as reliable as Zigbee in general gets. Initially just a couple of basic Aqara sensors to test with. Anything larger will need routers/repeaters for better reach.
