@queeromanceink I suspect there is no best advice here other than what you feel you need to emphasize or de-emphasize.
There is a truism in publishing, and there is a reason publishers won't give you cover or jacket blurb contract rights: Cover art is advertising. It's why I got a wookiee and a supermodel on a cover that featured a sheep-dog post-human and a Japanese teen. I might alt-text what it was supposed to be when I republish the story, though! I sold through the 1st printing of 25,000 books, btw.
I would think about what would 1) attract your target audience, 2) not drive away your audience, and 3) might annoy people who might troll you.
