I'm almost impressed with myself!
I've (finally) started getting ahead with writing the blurbs for my daily photos, mostly because ive figured out that each post follows the same basic outline, including certain tags, so I can write them once, ^C/^P into place as many times as I need, then fill in the blanks.
A first runthrough will see reg, type, airline, location, and date details filled in, followed by filling out all the hashtags, all of which is done on my desktop.
I can then do a 2nd run, filling in any other details for the caption, then writing the AltText, on any other computing device I can get my hands on (my wife's computer or my ChromeBook if I'm cooking, tablet or phone if I'm out, or anything else).
Doing this, ive suddenly gone from writing in panic mode, to just needing to write AltText for 3 photos today and 5 photos for tomorrow, while Friday just needs AltText for 2 photos, and a 2nd run for 3.
Why has it taken so long to figure this out?
And I realised just after I started typing this that if I have a text file I could just copy each post outline from, I could write it once, and copy/paste forever!
Doh!
All I need to do now is finish that new watermark, and I'm set up for the year!

Earlier this year, Simon & Schuster’s Sean Manning wrote an article on blurbs that took the publishing world by storm.

#Flashback #blogpost, My Bookcase Blurbs (February 2023): I thought I'd share front-cover blurbs from my bookcase in this post, but because I have so many fiction and nonfiction books, I narrowed my selection criteria. 📚 #books #blurbs

My Bookcase Blurbs

Blurbs are those short reviews or shout lines on books and have been around in different forms since Ancient Roman times.

Book blurbs going away? I somehow doubt it, being direct to consumer/reader marketing. Seems like a job for comical AI. I tend to skip considering books with blurbs entirely by people/authors I don't recognize. But if one of my favorite authors says it's the greatest book since...

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
Brilliant, moving, thought-provoking! Simon & Schuster is dispensing with book blurbs – will it make any difference?

‘When all novels are thrust upon you as words of genius,’ wrote George Orwell, ‘it is quite natural to assume that all of them are tripe.’

The Conversation

One co-author was curious about the little bright coloured buttons on the side of our new #bioRxiv #preprint. He clicked on the "automated services"... and found there 2 "#AIbstracts" of our manuscript, #AI generated #blurbs factually nearly correct and featuring only slighlty more than usual the commonplace attention catchers we scientists use.

Old news, it seems, though, but I hadn't noted it before.
