schneckenhausSegesta beherbergt ein griechisches Theater aus dem 3. Jhd v.Chr., welches in den Hang eines Hügels gehauen wurde. Es fasste bis zu 4.000 Zuschauer und diente Festspielen, die hellenische Tragödien und Komödien zeigten. Der elliptische Kreis und die steilen Ränge nutzen die Akustik des Geländes optimal; noch heute finden hier im Sommer Aufführungen statt.
