Così la presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, a “Non stop news” su Rtl 102.5. “In Italia abbiamo delle basi militari concesse all'utilizzo americano, in virtù di accordi che risalgono al 1954” secondo cui “ci sono delle autorizzazioni tecniche quando si parla chiaramente di logistica e di cosiddette operazioni non cinetiche”. Obiettivo che però, dal mio punto di vista, è impossibile se l'Iran non smette di attaccare i Paesi vicini e i paesi del Golfo”. “Abbiamo la priorità di mettere in sicurezza le decine di migliaia di italiani che sono nell'area – militari, diplomatici, cittadini che erano in transito – e dare assistenza a chi è rimasto bloccato. Abbiamo già organizzato i primi voli per far rientrare i primi convogli, anche per far rientrare chi è rimasto bloccato, particolarmente a Dubai. Alcuni convogli si stanno spostando nelle nazioni limitrofe, cerchiamo di farli partire da aeroporti sicuri, e dobbiamo anche ringraziare Emirati Arabi Uniti, Oman, che sono paesi amici e ci stanno dando una mano” ha detto ancora Giorgia Meloni. “Poi abbiamo chiaramente il tema delle conseguenze soprattutto economiche per l'Italia: dobbiamo impedire che la speculazione faccia implodere anche ingiustamente i prezzi dell'energia e dei generi alimentari”.
