I'm so proud of my baby.
Ok, so check this out.
Today I walked 8000+ steps AND did #rollerderby for two hours (and I did pretty well! I'm making rapid progress, I'm very proud of myself), AND rode a bicycle to and from derby practice. Over 25 km combined, half of which was in the rain (luckily the first half).
As a reminder, I'm 39 and as recently as half a year ago, I was considerably out of shape.
Anyhow. Got home, took a quick hot shower to hopefully not catch a cold because my clothes were damp on my way back, now I'm gonna read a bit and I'm so tired I might actually go to sleep at a normal hour for a change.
A perfect evening ^_^
OK, the fact that it takes less time to get to my #rollerderby practice on the outskirts of my city, ACROSS THE RIVER, quicker by bicycle than by public transport, is mildly weird.
But the fact that it's also substantially quicker to get to the practice that is NOT WITHIN MY CITY is wild.
Part of it is that I have to walk quite a bit from the train stops and whatnot, but still!
And getting there via a combination of public transport and bicycle is gonna be like, lightning fast, what the heck.
Guess I'mma add some extra exercise twice a week in the form of bicycle riding, if I can find a way to get my derby gear on the bicycle or at the very least a comfortable backpack.
(because the skates and the protective gear including the helmet and the clothes I need to change into and the large bottle of water combine to a lot of weight. And volume)
Y este sábado, derbicosas en Donosti :)
