A ★★★★★ review of Near Dark (1987)
There are 3 big vampire movies from the mid to late 80s. Most people place The Lost Boys at number one, either because it's the only one they know, or they just like the vibe. But for me, it ranks at number three. First place is and forever will be Fright Night, a stone cold classic. Then there is number two, the magnificent Near Dark, which on any given day could take that number one spot. Without a doubt the best performance of Bill Paxton's career (with all due respect to Frailty) and you add in Lance Henriksen, Jeanette Goldstein

2/10 for me. It had potential but it turned out flatter than my failed pancakes.

Queen of the Giraffes 👑🦒"Mute" has a good cast and all the neon-drenched visuals you could want in a near-future noir. But the actors are held back by their bad (or absent) dialogue, and the plot is an implausible, convoluted mess. A real letdown after the quality of "Moon."
