I’m pretty sure I’m not going to finish any of my reading challenges for this year. I do the Book Riot #ReadHarderChallenge every year, and I’ve been doing the Free Black Women’s Library challenge for the last few years. I love them both. But it’s been a really tough year and I have been deeply in cozy fluffy book land, as a necessary coping strategy. I have been trying to read alongside them, finding cozy books that sort of align with the categories.
For the #ReadHarderChallenge this year, I need to read ‘a book that went under the radar in 2023’. Do you have a recommendation for me? I generally read #romance (preferably nothing overly cishet, but otherwise I read most subgenres), #speculativefiction (nothing too grim these days), #fantasy , and I enjoy funny books that don’t punch down. I prefer audiobooks but don’t mind reading with my eyes if I have to. #amreading #bookstodon
I finished the @bookriot #bookriot #ReadHarder #readharderchallenge !
I'm #reading #audiobook this for the #bookriot #ReadHarder #readharderchallenge . The story is compelling and the narrator is terrific.

@vlrny I had a long stretch (years) of low cog related to illness, pain, and grief (which really impacts both pain and cognition!). I’m so thankful I’ve been able to read new fiction again - I’ve been zipping through both the #ReadHarderChallenge and the Free Black Women’s Library reading challenge this year. I just finish A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers and it was so sweet and tender and hopeful for what a different world could look like.

1. We survived 35 degrees in our top floor apartment with two fans, cold drinks, and dips in the shower. (Yes, I even dipped the cat's back paws in the water periodically, and she was cautiously trusting)
2. It's cooler today.
3. I'm reading a novel for the #bookriot #readharderchallenge and it's SO fun. It also won a #lammyaward : Kiss Her Once for Me by A. Cochrun
10 Books Read for the Read Harder Challenge: Top Ten Tuesday - chasing destino

10 Books Read for the Read Harder Challenge is my Top Ten Tuesday theme for this week. That Artsy Girl made the topic a freebie this week.

It's April and I've only completed one task in the #ReadHarderChallenge. There are 23 to go. I don't think this is going to work out. I know we're allowed to use one book for multiple tasks. I didn't want to do that, but I'm not sure I can complete it even if I do. #BookRiot #Bookstodon
@cublanco How interesting. The bookriot #ReadHarderChallenge has a task to read a manga. I was just wondering where or if I could find an accessible one. I guess that one from NLS will be it.
I'm pretty disappointed that some of the prompts for the BookRiot #ReadHarderChallenge cannot be completed by #blind and visually impaired #Screenreader users. For example, task 5, read a completed webcomic. THese are completely visual and cannot be read by a screenreader. As much as they advocate for disabled representation, it’s sad to see them selecting tasks that exclude blind people from participating. I can replace those tasks with tasks from previous years so it's not a total loss. #noxp
