Date: WAS Saturday 25 April 2026, now not sure yet about the rescheduling.
Time: 12 noon till 4pm.
Event: Covid Community Care Fundraiser.
β’ Vegan bake sale with gluten-free options.
β’ Crafts: make stickers and mask chains.
Location: Outdoors at the Rising Sun Arts Centre, Reading, RG1 2ST, with access to the toilets indoors. Free masks provided.
Covid precautions:
- Masks required, FFP2 or better, at all times in craft/bake sale area. Please step away if you need a break or to eat or drink. Free masks provided.
- Do not attend if you have any symptoms of contagious illness such as a cough or cold.
- If you wish to attend and cannot wear a mask, please contact us beforehand so we can arrange a PlusLife covid test for you.
- Even if you will be masking, covid testing beforehand with Rapid Antigen Tests (widely available in boots, superdrug, savers, etc) is encouraged! These tests are more reliable if you can take two, 48 hours apart.
- We will be outdoors outside of the arts centre, but we will have access to toilets indoors.

There's been a big car crash at the junction leading to IKEA and Sainbury's on the A4 in Reading. The road is closed eastbound at the M4 roundabout.
My satnav marked it closed all the way up to the Berkeley Avenue junction, but that doesn't seem likely.

A moderately dull news piece on changes to a bus lane in Reading. Just one minor problem: the picture isn't of the bus lane in question. It's not even of a bus lane in Reading. It appears to be from somewhere in Horsham. (The shop just behind the truck is "Dracula's House", a Romanian shop in Horsham -- but its current location doesn't match this picture).
At least the local news illustrates their articles with screengrabs of the right street from GMaps...
