Aseprite is definitely the most well know tool, and there's no denying its really good.
However I started on PyxelEdit
and while its not nearly are fully featured I like the more simple experience and it does (almost) everything i could want.
For anyone looking for a free program, id recommend checking out Pixelorama, there are some things about the interface I dont love, but its a perfectly functional editor.
do you know any I didnt mention?
what do you use personally?

I can't really figure out if I'm able to map the paddle buttons on the Pro 2, but I at least figured out you can map things to two button presses for more options!!
@duke_of_germany Alot of Tileset work is done in #pyxeledit (https://pyxeledit.com/). It's a frustrating one, because it is REALLY good for tilesets, nothing else really comes close IMO.
That said it seems development has all but ended on it. I'm hunting for another program that 'understands' the concept of tiles, but as far as I can tell its pretty unique in that space.
