The change will make it harder for people to switch from Verizon to other carriers.
The Verizon petition was opposed in a filing by #PublicKnowledge, the #BentonFoundation, #ConsumerReports, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (#EFF), #iFixit, and other groups.

Hello #Mastodon! I'm a long time writer and a proponent for getting the truth out to the public about how much more important LOCAL government plays a part in our lives.

More so than state and federal, LOCAL government dictates the small things in life: trash pickup, how tall your grass should be (before you're fined for non-compliance), street lights (and who to contact to get them fixed), and potholes in the road.

These are just a few very minor things that LOCAL government touches in our day-to-day jungle. LOCAL government touches far more than just menial matters in our yards and our streets, too, but that conversation is for another day.

I'm glad to be here on #Mastodon where I am capable of writing about the following
